Solve Septic Tank Problems
Most septic tank problems can be traced to an overgrowth of anaerobic bacteria. Anaerobic bacteria begin to grow when a lack of oxygen exists and dies when it is introduced. Other septic tank problems can be attributed to the effects of byproducts from the bacterium include corrosion from hydrogen sulfide; this is produced during the respiration of the bacterium. You will recognize the presence of it by a “rotten egg” smell. Organic material will not break down quickly, forming a thick sludge called the biomat that will clog the drain pipe and can affect the leach field.
